So you’ve been invited to a Thanksgiving dinner and you graciously accept. The proper thing to do is to dress appropriately and arrive on time. Once there, you should still observe etiquette. Finish the food on your plate. Praise the cooking and please don’t drink too much. The last thing the host or hostess would want to deal with is a drunken guest. Also, help clean up after. And of course, you have to bring gifts to Thanksgiving dinner for the kind host.

Food

Food is always a welcome gift to a Thanksgiving party. The more food you have, the better the party as my dear ol’ Gramma used to say. Of course, you have to bring something nice not some food you just bought on your way to dinner. But before deciding on what food to bring, you should politely ask the host if you can.

Spend some time and effort making your specialty. If you don’t have one or if the host would rather that your specialty doesn’t steal the show, go with something easy to make but goes well with the tradition. Slaws, for example, are always welcome additions to any party, particularly Thanksgiving.

The Crunchy Thanksgiving Slaw by The Kitchn is the perfect complement to the beloved turkey. It is light yet gives different flavor and texture. The best part of this version is that it won’t wilt as fast as other slaws. That means you can make it at home and take it to the party without worrying of whether it would wilt or get soggy.

To make your Crunchy Thanksgiving Slaw, you’ll need to make the dressing first. Check out the recipe for the exact amount of each ingredient. Basically, you’ll be whisk ing oil, vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and salt together in a bowl. Then add red onion and stir before letting it sit for 10 minutes.

Slice up the cabbage thinly then add to the bowl of dressing. Mix in almonds, cranberries and parsley, as well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Let it sit in room temperature while you get ready for the party. It will not wilt for up to two hours so you better make it quick. Pack your Thanksgiving gift in a nice container or simply cover your salad bowl with cling wrap then proceed to the party.

You want your slaw to look presentable as it is appetizing. Use a Clean Dezign Large Serving and Salad Bowl. The eco-friendly salad bowl is made from bamboo fibers and comes with servers and a bamboo lid. It looks so nice, you can even give the bowl itself as your Thanksgiving gift.

Wine

Wine and other alcoholic beverages are popular thanksgiving gifts. You should be courteous enough to as the host first before buying your gift. Ask if it’s okay to bring a bottle to Thanksgiving dinner and if the host says sure, ask if he or she prefers a particular kind.

Wine of the Month Club offers one bottle of wine in a gorgeous treasure chest-like box for as low as $49. You can choose from its selection of Classic, Vintners and Limited Series wines.

Beer seems like a good idea, too, as long as the host agrees. You can all have a bottle or two to start off the night and shake off the hibbie jibbies.

Wine Glass Set

Now here’s something reserved for the closest of friends who like to have some drunken fun every now and then. This wine glass set from Du Vino is the perfect Thanksgiving gift to bring to the dinner party. It includes four wine glasses printed with different funny quips and drawings. One says, “Let’s Get Baked,” another says, “Let’s Get Basted.” The other two says, “Let’s Get Ready to Gobble” and “Let’s Get Smashed.”

The ink used is organic and won’t easily be washed away even in a dishwasher. Each stemless wine glass come with an edge that won’t easily chip and a sturdy base. All four are packed in a tough white gift box.

Tea

Not all parties or even Thanksgiving dinners end with beer or wine. Some people prefer good ol’ fashioned tea. Bring a box of Taylors of Harrogate Classic Tea for your host, especially if you know him or her as a tea drinker.

The variety box includes 48 different tea bags. It has six of each variety, which are as follows: Decaffeinated Breakfast, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Green Tea with Jasmine, Lemon & Orange, Organic Chamomile, Organic Peppermint, and Pure Assam.

This makes it an even better Thanksgiving gift since your host can enjoy the wonderful scent of Pure Joy during the holidays.

At Peace, meanwhile, is made up of Bergamot, Lavender, Patchouli, and Ylang Ylang essential oils. As the name implies, it provides with a soothing and calming effect that you may need after slaving it in the kitchen the whole day.

Finally, we the Thankful Blend. It is a combination Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Tangerine essential oils. It gives off that warm and sweet yet spicy aroma reminiscent of the time your mom made pies and cookies.
