Camp in Luxury with These Surprisingly Affordable Glamping Gear

Glamping or glamorous camping is not a new concept contrary to what many of you might believe. It started around the 1100s during the time of Genghis Khan when the nomadic Mongolian tribes lived in round tents made of animal skins or sheep’s wool called yurts. Back then, these nomads didn’t have any luxurious glamping gear. They only had meager possessions.

Nowadays, glamping, otherwise known as luxury camping, is often thought of as an overly expensive outdoor activity. This is quite true considering all the high-end glamping gear and services not common in regular campsites such as on-site casual dining provided at the Yellowstone and Zion national parks.

Fortunately, you can still camp in style without breaking the bank. The list of glamping gear below is affordable compared to what most glampers use. However, they will still let you experience luxury like you’ve never experienced before.

Tent

One distinct glamping gear you must have is a huge, gorgeous tent. Glamping tents, as they are often referred to, offers enough space for at least one full-size bed and mattress, table and chairs, a couch, and other furnishings. Some glamping sites provide elegant lighting and even chandeliers inside their tents.

Ozark provides the tents perfect for your glamping gear. The Ozark Trail Tent pictured here can accommodate up to ten people. If you want a little privacy, you can use the dividers to make three rooms. The Ozark tent is also tall enough for glampers to stand up inside.

The tent is easy to assemble though you will need to bring your own mallet for the stakes. Better yet, get the tent kit from Coleman for as low as $7.50. The set comes with a rubber mallet, steel rod stake puller, nesting hand broom and dustpan, and four tent pegs.

Bed

Glamping is not just about style, it’s also about comfort. The perfect way to achieve style and comfort is to have the right bed for your glamping needs. Coleman’s Airbed Cot costs only $144.66 right now, which is a shade over $55 off from its regular price of almost $200. The queen-sized air mattress has two side tables with cup holders, which are great if you want to enjoy a bottle of beer or glass of wine while reading a book in bed.

The cot is made of steel frame that’s sturdy enough to carry up to 600 pounds. It will also fit people as tall as 6 feet two inches. Furthermore, prepping the air mattress is an easy task thanks to its 4D battery-operated pump.

Fan and Lighting

Most glamping sites use air-conditioned tents to provide guests with the ultimate comfort. Expectedly, such tents are expensive. If you’re looking for something more affordable, you can opt for fans instead. A fan will suffice especially if the night gets a little too cold.

The Image Portable LED Camping Lantern with Ceiling Fan is just the right combination of comfort, style, and affordability. It has 18 LED lights that are great if you want to see things more clearly. At the other end is a hook so you can hang it anywhere. A simple flip will reveal the fan. You can use the device as a light or as a fan though you can use both features at the same time.

The classic campfire is not enough for the glampers. If you want to experience what glamping is really like, you have to set the mood. Lighting plays a huge part in this. The simplest and probably cheapest way to light up the glampsite is to use some candles. Place candles inside glass jars and surround the area making a boundary of some sort.

Solar lighted jars such as the ones by LampLust also provide the right ambiance to your campsite with their warm white glow. For only $26.99 for a set of two jars, you can light up the place in style. It automatically switches on at dusk. Plus, each glass jar comes with a rechargeable battery.

Food

It’s fun to prepare meals from scratch and cook them over fire but some glampers may prefer not to get their hands too dirty. If casual dining at the campsite isn’t your cup of tea, you can simply make your own meals that radiate that glamping feel.

You probably can’t whip out a Michelin star kind of dish unless you’re name is Gordon Ramsay or Alain Ducasse. But it won’t hurt if you learn a few delectable dishes for your glamping trip. If you have little confidence in your cooking skills, you can at least grill some juicy stakes or burgers.

You can’t go wrong with the Coleman Road Trip Grill LXE. This portable propane grill distributes heat across the whole grilling surface. This allows you to grill more without worrying about burning any of your meat or veggies.

The Coleman Road Trip Grill costs a little over $183, which may be quite a sum for those trying not to spend too much. However, considering the newer model costs almost $230, you are saving a lot for something you can use it on other occasions aside from your glamping adventure.

If the Coleman grill doesn’t fit your budget, you can opt for the super portable Cuisinart Petite Gourmet Tabletop Gas Grill. For only $96.53, you still get to grill up to 8 steaks or burgers at once. Plus, it looks like really cool briefcase when not in use.

Drinks

Enjoying cold drinks is not a luxury. It’s a necessity at this point, especially if you’re out camping under the sun. Unfortunately, campsites don’t have refrigerators. Fortunately, there are Yeti coolers.

When it comes to coolers, Yeti is one of the best brands around. It’s known for having the longest ice life at 13 days. The next best one can keep ice for 10 days only. That means you must have a Yeti among your glamping gear.

Some of the best Yeti coolers cost somewhere around $300 to $500 while the top-of-the-line ones are almost $900 each. You’re looking for affordable glamping gear so it’s best to avoid these coolers. What you want are the cheaper variants such as the Yeti Tank 45 Bucket Cooler, which retails for $199.99 on Amazon. The Yeti Roadie 20 Cooler normally costs $249.99 but if you purchase one on Amazon right now, you can save $50 and have it for $199.99 only.

It shouldn’t really matter what gear you bring to camp. A true outdoor enthusiast would be happy just to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. Of course, if you want a different yet luxurious experience, you can always give glamping a try. The right glamping gear would help a lot to make your experience memorable.
